VOL. 11 NO. 12

CECILIA IBRU
The Editor,
Wow! I am completely bowled over by this your latest edition (Vol. 11 No 11). To me it is the best ever Squib. I couldn’t believe my eyes reading all the properties recovered from Cecilia Ibru the plea Bargain settlement between her and the A.G Nigeria.
Haba, that madam must have gone mad – properties all over the world, including of all places Ajangbadi – Sheer madness of course. I saw my friend’s name there – Dele Oye, oh what a shame. What criminal gluttony!
I placed a call to Dele Oye to intimate him of my shock find in the Squib and his immediate response was to say that you were an ungrateful person who had been publishing rubbish about him despite the fact that he helped you when he was prosecuting you before the Body of Benchers Disciplinary Committee Abuja and that you were always begging him then I told him that the recent publication is not a squib write-up but a publication of the certified true copy of the Plea Bargain between Cecilia Ibru and the Federal Government.
Of course I believe in your integrity and not moved by his tales.
Editor’s Note: Thank you. I challenge Dele Oye to give the particulars of how, when and where I ever approached him to beg when he was prosecuting my case. This was a most disreputable prosecutor who became a hatchet job man for Mr. Justice Adetula Alabi, former Chief Judge of Lagos State in that judge’s malicious bid to get me condemned at all cost by the Body of Benchers Disciplinary Committee.
In saner and more decent climes the types of Dele Oye cannot continue in the job as prosecutor for the NBA in disciplinary matters.

MONITOR
The Editor,
Your marathon publishing of the Monitor of the High Court for the Ikeja Judicial Division in Vol. 11 No 11 was a mess. You repeated data of three weeks-shocking to say the least.
Editor’s Note: We are awfully sorry. It was the printer’s devil at work. Please forgive us.

GRACE
The Editor,
I am persuaded that you have an uncommon grace to be daring and championing causes, even dangerous ones. I am sure of my position because I have known you from the university. Even in those old days, you’ve been courageous. Do you fear at all?
And I sincerely appreciate this quality because I do not have it. Without mincing words you are better known in our judiciary because of your activism than many Senior Advocates of Nigeria.
Editor’s Note: Thank you but what does a man have that has not been given to him by God?

COMMISSIONER OF POLICE
The Editor,
I saw your cover story on the new Commissioner of Police of Lagos State, I mean his visit to the NBA Ikeja branch. Well I know that he was brought to Lagos State by the Federal Government to help the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) win the gubernatorial election in April 2011.
The new commissioner’s elder brother is the national publicity Secretary of the PDP.
Editor’s Note: True?

SQUIB
The Editor,
Just the other day some people called me aside to ask whether I was your friend because they saw me with you. When I answered in the positive, they expressed open dismay and said I should not deceive myself, that one day I would wake up to find a story about me in the Squib, that you have no friends.
Editor’s Note: Don’t mind them, jare. Why won’t I have friends? It’s only the Squib that has no friends. It has only geckos.

SQUIB
The Editor,
What’s happening to the Squib? I don’t see it regularly in the court premises like before. Are you still publishing?
Editor’s Note: Yes, but we are no longer a weekly but a bi-monthly.
